MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Toastmasters Pioneer Club 17 is open to the community. Members reflect a broad range of ages, life experiences, and social backgrounds.
It is difficult to describe Toastmasters and what we do. We are not professional speakers; we are dedicated to helping each other become more effective in our professions and our communities. The best way to learn more is by seeing us in action.
We encourage all who may be interested either in joining a Toastmasters Club or just in learning more, to visit several clubs--not just ours. We believe that you will have the best possible experience in Toastmasters when you carefully choose which club is the "best fit" for your personality, your goals, and your schedule. The club of your choice may or may not be Pioneer 17, but we welcome you to attend our club meetings as our guest any time--as often as you like!
Our members find that our club is not just affordable, it's a downright bargain... less than $1 per meeting! Dues are payable two times per year. Regular members dues are currently $33 for 26 weeks (six months)! New members' initial investments vary, since they cover only the months remaining in the six-month term.
Applying for membership is so simple that we do that in person, not online. If and when you decide to join Toastmasters Pioneer Club 17, we gather some information about you on a Membership Application form, and at the club's earliest convenience, we conduct a vote.
In our Toastmasters club, we vote regularly on a number of things, and through a vote to accept a new member, we affirm our roles as people who will support our newest member in his or her skills development. The vote is not a competition; therefore, no campaigning is necessary. You won't even need to approach the podium. We do not ask anything special of a guest other than that you tell a little bit about yourself and maybe tell us--only if you want to--what you thought of the meeting you have attended.
Toastmaster members around the world who belong to well-functioning clubs will agree that membership in any given club is a privilege, not a right; therefore, if for some reason the club feels it may not be able to affirm its role, it reserves its right to not accept a new member's application.
On acceptance, new members enter into the clubs activities at their own chosen pace, becoming familiar with club members, activities, and the features and benefits of membership.
Our Toastmaster club strives for distinction as it finds itself climbing up, one step at a time.
